The Kogi State chapter of the United Peoples Congress (UPC) has joined other political parties to endorse Governor Yahaya Bello for a second term and also urged its members and supporters across the state to vote massively for Governor Bello of APC.
The state chairman of the party, honorable Moses Damisa made this declaration today in a press briefing held at the NUJ press center, Lokoja.
In the statement which was read by the state secretary of UPC, Honorable Suleman Raji, the party was recently registered and have decided to enter into a bipartisan relationship with another party to achieve its vision for the state.
“Today, Kogi State is faced with a serious choice of a party to lead and manage its resources for the next four years, and it should be noted that UPC is actively in the contest but ill-equipped at this time to clinch the exalted seat of the governor of Kogi State.
“The party decided to align with a party that shares similar vision and objective enough to partner with”. He said.
Damisa said the party has decided to lend its full support to All Progressives Congress and its candidate, Governor Yahaya Bello in line with the provisions of the constitution because the APC is development inclined and that Governor Bello’s developmental strides cut across every sphere of the society.
He said the governor’s achievement in security, agriculture, health and youth empowerment in the last three years has given a strong conviction that he will do more if given another term.
He called on all members of United Peoples Congress in Kogi State to commence immidiate campaign for APC and Yahaya Bello with the slogan “UPC 4 APC”.
