The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources Hon. (Dr.) Abdulmumin Danga has been decorated as the Warrior of Peace by the Tiv Youth Peace Initiative from Benue state.
The President of the initiative, Hon. Simon Terna Anaka’a who led other delegates to Lokoja to present the award, said the Tiv Youth Peace Initiative’s major objectives are to promote peace, unity and prosperity in Nigeria.
He noted that the group has followed the efforts of the commissioner in strengthening peace and unity in his domain, adding that his various philanthropic gestures across the Niger aimed at developing young minds stood him out for the award.
Hon. Simon thanked the recipient of the award for being one of the strong advocates of peace and commended him also for the effictive handling of his duties since assumption of office as Commissioner for Water Resources in the state.
The group further appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for being a youth friendly, detribalised and a gender sensitive leader, assuring that they would formally add their voice to the call on the governor to contest for presidency in 2023 because he has displayed an unrivaled commitment to the advancement of peace and unity in the country.
‘In recognition and appreciation of your wonderful contribution towards peaceful coexistence in Kogi State/Nigeria, youth and students empowerment support programs, Humanitarian Services to the less privileged, orphans, widows and your passion for accommodating people irrespective of their religion, tribe, languages and state of origin, we hereby decorate you, Hon. Danga, the as the “KURUTYA U BEM” Meaning the Worrior of Peace in Nigeria.” he concluded.
In his reaction, Hon. (Dr.) Danga appreciated the leadership and members of the body for the recognition all the way from Tiv land in Benue State.
He dedicated the award to Governor Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve and impact lives. He said Bello is a lover of youths who is always ready to advance the course of youths, and he has displayed that in many ways through his stance on the ENDSARS protests, involment of youths in decision making process and the surpassing of the 35% affirmative action for women which he said stood him out amongst his colleagues.
Hon. Danga encourage the Tiv Youths to always preach the gospel of Yahaya Bello anywhere they find themselves, expressing optimism that the governor will eventually agree to run for president and win with the massive support of young people.
